(15) Santa Clause was a surprise gift from my wife, compliments of Pottery World (and a small fee.) I built the frame with my Dad from scrap lumber out of his wood shop. This was the first Christmas woodworking project undertaken with Dad. The “real thing” is one of the most famous marketing tag lines in the world for Coca-Cola. The company is credited with creating the modern image of Santa Clause as a method of selling soft drinks in the colder, winter months. The original Saint Nicolas, for whom Santa Clause is based, is a 4th century Christian Bishop from an area that is modern day Turkey.
(16) Polar bears and Penguins playing together…only with Christmas magic. Polar Bears are Arctic animals found only in the Northern Hemisphere. Penguins are Southern Hemisphere animals. You will never see Polar bears and Penguins together in the wild. In fact, the majority of penguin species are actually warm weather birds.
(17) Santa’s helpers are this year’s newest addition, wrapping gifts and quietly taking them to the tree for Christmas morning in the shadows of the display. Sadly, Dad’s wood shop did not possess the amount of material required for the elves. Home Depot was this project’s wood supplier.
